About Us

We are a unique place for an authentic underground San Antonio experience!

Carmens de la Calle opened more than 20 years ago as a cozy little tapas & wine bar in San Antonio, Texas known for an ever changing global menu and passionate nights of flamenco dancers, jazz or world music, raising the bar for a fun night out for locals and visitors.

Located at 320 North Flores, our eclectic venue is off the beaten path with an environment that transports you out of the city. Our ethos; live local, think global, practice human, have fun.

We have continued to be known not only for outstanding performances but also for delicious signature dishes from empanadas to paella. Our house sangria is one of the best in the city, so we’re told.

We now offer our unique environment and presentation of food, art and intimate stage performances as a curated experience for private gatherings.

This is by far our favorite spot in San Antonio. Great tapas, cozy atmosphere but even better is the live entertainment. These singers and dancers sing and dance their hearts out. It makes us feel like we have gone back to Spain every time we come to Carmen’s.

Paella and Sangria on a Saturday night while listening to vocalist Laura Marie. Carmens has a welcoming ambience & their Paella & Sangria are incredible!

This place is awesome. My wife and I started our anniversary celebration at Carmen’s. We did not have reservations but they took us in and gave us the best table in the house. We loved the food and the show. You cant beat this place for a romantic experience that is not overly priced. We will definitely go back when we visit San Antonio.

What an amazing opportunity to see the art of Spanish Flamenco guitar and dance! I have searched unsuccessfully for years to find jut such a place/event/show. Coming from KC it seemed like I would have to travel to Miami or New York. No San Antonio, TX has it. Uber there and back from riverwalk area very short distance and and the food I had never heard of was fantastic! Do yourself a favor and check it out. Hole in the wall best time of all.

Carmen is on top of her game! Simple storefront hides a great dining experience. Global Menu is on a chalk board and changes daily. There is a cover charge for the Flamenco dancing but the food alone makes the trip worth the cover. Goat cheese hatch chili dip and Paella was awesome.
